    I had problems with this kit on a 1963 Sprite. There was more play at the wheel after fitting these new bearings compared with the old ones I was changing.
    The only solution I could figure out was maybe to add shims to get some pre load in to the bearings which seemed to be very slack compared with the originals. The split pin supplied in the kit is also too large and will not fit into the hole in the stub axle.
    I ended up cleaning and reinstalled the old original equipment bearings and ended up with no play at the wheels.
    The grease and oil seal are ok though.

      Hello Thank you for your comment. There is a thrust side to these bearings which needs to be fitted the correct way round, otherwise you can experience play. These bearings do not need shims. You are correct about the split pin they are too large and we have now changed them. thank you for pointing this out. regards Sharon
